Amarr opener logic board repair in San Antonio typically runs $120 – $320 installed, and we stock compatible boards on our trucks for most Amarr models so we can usually complete the swap the same day we diagnose it. The logic board is the brain inside your opener’s powerhead, the circuit panel that translates signals from your wall button and remotes into actual motor movement. When it fails, your Amarr opener does strange things: the door won’t respond, the lights flicker on their own, or the opener runs for a split second and stops like it’s second-guessing itself.
Which Amarr Models This Applies To
Amarr doesn’t manufacture its own opener logic boards. Amarr door openers are built under private label by major opener manufacturers, so the board inside your Amarr opener almost always crosses over to a LiftMaster, Chamberlain, or Genie part number. That’s good news for San Antonio homeowners because it means a replacement board is usually available without waiting on Amarr-specific inventory. The compatibility gotcha: Amarr openers sold with premium door packages often carry a board revision number on a small white sticker on the powerhead cover. That revision matters. Two Amarr openers that look identical on the outside can run different board firmware, and installing the wrong revision can brick the new board or leave your remotes unable to pair. We read that sticker before we order or pull a board, every time.
We’re an independent service provider, not affiliated with Amarr, which means we can tell you the truth about OEM versus aftermarket without a sales quota attached. For most Amarr openers under ten years old, we recommend the OEM-equivalent board, which is usually the same board we’d install in a LiftMaster or Chamberlain opener. For older Amarr units where the OEM board is discontinued, quality aftermarket replacements exist, and we’re happy to walk you through the tradeoff in person before you commit to anything.

Signs Your Amarr Opener Logic Board Is Failing
- Opener won’t respond to any remote or wall button. When both inputs go dead at the same time, the board’s receiver circuit has usually failed, not the remote batteries. We test this by jumping the opener’s screw terminals directly before we ever condemn the board.
- Door starts, then immediately reverses or stops. The board is misreading the force settings or the limit switch signal, and it thinks the door hit something. This can also be a travel module, but the board is the more common culprit on Amarr units past the five-year mark.
- Lights flash codes that don’t match anything in the manual. Amarr boards use the light to communicate, and when the board’s flash code list doesn’t cover what your opener is doing, the board itself is usually the thing that’s confused.
- Opener runs by itself, with no one pressing anything. This is a serious one and we treat it as a safety issue. A failing logic board can send a run signal on its own, which means your door could open unexpectedly. If this happens, unplug the opener and call us.
- Burnt smell or visible scorch marks on the board. San Antonio’s summer lightning storms and power surges are hard on opener boards. A capacitor or relay pops, and the board is done. We see this pattern every year between April and September.

AfterReplacement Cost & What’s Included
In San Antonio, Amarr opener logic board replacement runs $120 – $320 installed, and the spread comes down to three things: which board your opener needs, whether it’s still in production, and whether your opener needs a new receiver module paired at the same time. The board itself is usually $80 – $180 of that total. The rest is labor, which takes most of an hour including programming remotes, setting travel limits, and testing the door under load.
The price you’re quoted is the price you pay. We write it down and hand it to you before a single screw comes out of your opener, and it includes the new board, installation, programming, and a full cycle test. Every Amarr logic board repair we do in San Antonio carries our 365-Day Done Right Promise: if the board fails within a year of the repair date, we come back and make it right at no charge. No fine print, no prorated board cost, no argument.
DIY or Call Us?
You can safely check a few things before you call us, and we’d rather you do. Make sure the opener is plugged in and the outlet has power. Check that your wall button isn’t stuck or shorted. Try the remote with fresh batteries. If none of that changes anything, the problem is almost certainly on the board, and this is where we’d stop the DIY conversation.
Logic boards are low-voltage but they’re wired to a door that can weigh 150 to 250 pounds, and a board that’s sending phantom run signals can move that door when you don’t expect it. There’s also the very real risk of shorting a new $150 board against the opener chassis during installation, which voids the board warranty instantly. If you want to avoid guessing, call (806) 491-1594 and we’ll diagnose it properly. Most Amarr board failures take us about 20 minutes to confirm on site.
FAQs
In San Antonio’s heat and storm season, most Amarr opener logic boards last 7 to 12 years before they fail, with power surges from summer lightning being the number one cause of early board death we see across the metro. A whole-home surge protector on the garage circuit can extend that, but nothing makes a board immortal.
If your board is dead, call (806) 491-1594 for a same-day diagnosis and an exact replacement quote. Estimates are free.
In our experience, repairing an Amarr logic board at the component level rarely makes sense: the circuit traces are fine-pitch, the failure is usually a burned relay or a blown IC, and board-level repair costs more in labor than a replacement board does in parts. We’ll always tell you if yours is one of the rare boards worth saving, but 95 times out of 100, replacement is the honest answer.
Call (806) 491-1594 and we’ll give you a straight answer before we touch a thing. The diagnosis is free with the repair.
Most Amarr logic board replacements take 45 to 75 minutes from the time we arrive, including removing the old board, installing the new one, programming your remotes and keypad, setting limits, and running the door through a full cycle test. If we have the right board on the truck, you’re back to normal the same visit.
Call (806) 491-1594 and we’ll confirm board availability for your Amarr model before we head out.
We stock the most common Amarr-compatible logic boards on our San Antonio trucks, along with boards for LiftMaster, Chamberlain, and Genie openers, so we can finish the job in one visit for most models. If your Amarr opener needs an oddball revision board, we can usually source it same-day or next-day from our local supply house.
Call (806) 491-1594 with the sticker number from your powerhead and we’ll tell you exactly what we’ve got and what it’ll cost before we even get in the truck.
